UCLA Happenings (happenings.ucla.edu) presents over 1,000 top pick events each year in sports, arts and lectures on the UCLA campus.

Behind the Scenes

The site was designed and developed by Aaron Proctor and is currently maintained at UCLA Marketing and Communications. Happenings was built as a custom PHP/MySQL web app. Student "pickers" are hired seasonally.

Testing

Happenings, along with most web sites these days, is best viewed in Firefox (PC/Mac), but the site is tested regularly with Internet Explorer 6 and 7 (PC) and Safari (Mac), which makes up 95% of the usage patterns. The site is almost valid XHTML, CSS and RSS along with Section 508 and WAI compliant.
