Additional Information

With only one month to the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen the international climate negotiations are in a decisive stage. Progress in the negotiations has been slow, but there seems to be new momentum after the Climate Summit in New York in September, where several large developing countries expressed an new encouraging willingness to act. The Danish Ambassador to the United States, Mr. Friis Arne Petersen, will provide an overview of the current state of negotiations and the prospects for the Copenhagen Conference. In addition, he will address key questions, such as whether it will be possible to reach an international climate agreement in Copenhagen, what the goals of the Danish government are for the conference, and what the main obstacles will be for reaching an agreement.
